birthdays all around

tomorrow (the 24th) is the birthday of two very special ladies in my life. (and dan dean, give him a shout) this is a good time to talk about how wonderful they are.

the first is my sister, alex.
she's turning 18 which means cigarettes, rock shows, and voting are all fair game. she rocks, literally and figuratively. i will forever be jealous of the talent and charisma that this girl possesses. president of her choir, soccer scholarship offers rolling in, homecoming queen nomination, she's pretty impressive. though i think i'm most proud of her social conscience, hippie inclinations, and feminist streak. that's my girl. stop on by her space and wish her a happy 18th.this is her present:
espresso maker w/ cups and a few t-shirts. i think she'll especially like the andy warhol one.
second in my blog, but not in my heart, is kaitlyn.
she's my bff's daughter and she's turning 3! no longer a toddler, i believe this officially makes her a big girl. she's way cooler than your average 3 year old. she likes penguins, jelly beans, gymnastics (which she calls "matchsticks") and rocking out. she does not like santa. and she has a british accent which makes everything sound cuter. "rubbish" is my favorite. and i think we should celebrate jackie as well today for raising a lovely girl to the age of 3 on her own, while in med school and having a job. yes, apparently she is a superhero. i'm tired just thinking about it. and this is her present: princess roller skates and kneepads, pink glittery skull t-shirt (which jackie tells me she will wear with her black skinny jeans, i'm dying from the cuteness), and harmonica (not pictured are the sweet tattoos i threw in at the last minute). and i sent a camera so i can see pics from her party.
